Mahanna joins Tighe & Bond, Inc. as senior project manager/associate

Thomas Mahanna, P.E., has joined Tighe & Bond, Inc. as a senior project manager/associate. A civil engineer with 25 years of experience in the water resources industry, he has collaborated with numerous eastern Massachusetts municipalities to design and improve their water systems. Mahanna has managed the planning, design, permitting and construction of treatment facilities, groundwater wells, pumping stations, storage tanks, SCADA systems, transmission mains, and other related waterworks projects. He also has developed master plans for municipal water systems that include computer hydraulic models of the distribution systems. "Tom is a recognized expert in the water resources industry, who is also very civic-minded and has an active presence in the Massachusetts Water Works Association (MWWA) and the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA). Needless to say, he is a welcome addition to our team, with local experience and knowledge that will benefit our eastern Massachusetts clients greatly," said David Pinsky, president of Tighe & Bond. A resident of Westford, Mass., Mahanna earned his bachelor of science in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College, and is a licensed professional engineer in Massachusetts. In addition to being an active member of MWWA and NEWWA, he is currently chairman of the Westford Permanent Town Building Committee, as well as a member of that town's Capital Planning Committee. He was also the recipient of MWWA's William H. McGinness Award in 2006.
