Mass. Chapter of ABC Excellence in Construction Awards - Cianbro Corp.

Groveland, MA The Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors congratulates Cianbro Corp. for receiving the Eagle and Merit Awards at the 23rd annual Excellence in Construction Awards for their outstanding work on the both the Bates Bridge Replacement in Groveland and Haverhill, Mass. and the White Compressor Station in Springfield Township, Penn.

Cianbro received an Eagle Award, representing the pinnacle of achievement, for its work on the Bates Bridge replacement in Groveland and Haverhill, Mass. Cianbro self-performed over 75% of the project and managed 19 subcontractors. The four-year, $47.5 million infrastructure project included construction of  a new 775 foot movable span bridge and included installation of drilled shaft foundations, reinforced concrete piers, a structural steel superstructure, a movable bascule lift section, concrete abutments, and retaining walls. They completed the project on schedule, safely, and experienced zero lost-time injuries.

White Compressor Station - Springfield Township, Penn. White Compressor Station - Springfield Township, Penn.

Cianbro also received a Merit and Safety Awards for its work on the White Compressor Station in Springfield Township, Penn. The White Compressor Station takes gas produced from well pads and converts it to a pressure that can be exported to the pipeline and delivered to end users. With craft levels peaking at 140, the project was completed in 108,918 work hours and ZERO lost time injuries. Cianbro incorporated innovative technology to assist in the complex construction of a tightly coordinated layout of piping, concrete and equipment placements. The project owner developed a 3-D model that greatly enhanced the ability to micro schedule placements, pipe welding and coating, and construction logistics.
