Boston MA Green building innovations that take a giant step forward were the focus of the 5th annual Innovation in Green Design Award (IGDA), given each year by the Mass. Chapter of the US Green Building Council.
Jurors for the 2012 awards are: Mike Davis, senior principal at Bergmeyer Associates and vice president/president-elect of the Boston Society of Architects; Gregg Dixon, senior vice president of marketing and sales at EnerNoc; and Lisa Brothers, president and CEO of Nitsch Engineering.
The IGDA has grown from 4 submissions in it's first year to 17 submissions this year, as the award continues to grow in importance as a showcase for the state. Submissions ranged from a community foundation formed to green an existing building to an innovative lighting system for life science laboratories to an exemplary multi-tenant office building in downtown Boston.
"I know about building performance, and all of these submissions show exemplary performance", said Dixon.
Brothers said "The IGDA winners have pushed hard to green our state. We wanted to recognize the effort and the results."
