Members applauded at Chapter Awards Dinner

On March 1st hundreds of CAI New England chapter members were among the first to congratulate this years' chapter award recipients recognized at the annual banquet and casino night. Awards were presented to individuals selected from nominations received in 6 categories including Special Events, Going Green, Communication, Association Volunteer of the Year, Manager of the Year and Service Professional of the Year and three additional awards presented by the chapter for outstanding service as well as committee volunteer and member recruitment efforts. The awards highlight the contributions and achievements of both condominium association volunteer leaders and industry professionals.
Association Excellence in Service Award for Special Events
The Windsor Green Condominium Unit Owners Association, Framingham, Mass. The community was selected for their events that promote community spirit and bring neighbors together. The award showcases the achievements of community and spotlights the contributions of the association volunteers who work tirelessly on their behalf.

Association Excellence in Service Award for Going Green
Old Medford High Condominiums, Medford, Mass. The Going Green Award was presented to the community for their forward thinking and instituting a progressive program of environmentally friendly improvements and upgrades over the past decade.
Association Excellence in Service Award for Communications
Harbor Towers Condominiums, Boston. The award showcased the many effective and cutting edge technologies utilized through a joint effort of management representatives, board members and property vendors that have engaged residents throughout the community in dialogue.

Association Volunteer of the Year
Chuck Horion, Regal Condominium, Medford, Mass. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the communities they serve, and board member Horion was described as having a "genuine care for the residents and the health of the association in general" and taking a "hands" on approach in dealing with issues and building projects while maintaining communication with the association manager and residents.
Portfolio Manager of the Year
Steven Dannin, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Dannin Management Corporation, Brookline, Mass. Nominated by his peers, Dannin was applauded for his commitment to the industry for more than 25 years and his accomplishments in overseeing a large portfolio of communities while mentoring other managers and supporting community leaders and residents.
On-Site Manager of the Year
Evan Dimmock, The Residences at Copley Place Cooperative, Boston. Selected from among several nominations, Dimmock was applauded for his quick response and crisis management in the aftermath of a fire that left thousands of Boston's Back Bay residents without power including more than 100 residential units in The Residences.
Service Professional of the Year
Bryan Kelly, Kelly's Property Services, Southborough, Mass. The chapter' service professional of the year award is presented to an individual nominated for providing exemplary service to community association boards and residents.
CAI New England Chapter
Volunteer of the Year
Paula Solemina, Pro-Care, Inc., Woburn, Mass. Recognized for her long standing and ongoing volunteer service to the chapter thorough her participation on many chapter committees and most notably the golf tournament committee and silent auction which has raised thousands of dollars for charity.
Recruiter of the Year
Richard Brooks, Esq., Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, Braintree, Mass. Supporting the chapter in maintaining its prestigious status as one of the top 10 chapters in the country, Brooks recruited more members to CAI than any other individual in 2012 and over his lifetime has recruited more than 500 new members and setting national CAI recruitment records.
Outstanding Service Award
David Abel, CMCA, First Realty Management, Boston, Mass. Recipients of this award volunteer their time and share without hesitation their expertise in advancing the interests of their association clients as well as their peers and colleagues. A long standing member of CAI, Abel has served as a mentor, educating other managers on issues of environmental importance and bringing his personal crusade for the environment into the workplace and communities. He was applauded for his commitment, dedication and the overall impact of his efforts on people, properties and our planet.
The chapter congratulates all 2012 award recipients for the industry achievements.
