Migis Hotel Group acquires Emerson Inn by the Sea for $4.8 million

Migis Hotel Group, a family owned and operated hotel management company based in Maine, has acquired Emerson Inn by the Sea for $4.8 million. The company will own, operate, and manage the 36-room historic grand hotel. Over the next year, Migis Hotel Group looks forward to an extensive upgrade, which will include refreshing rooms, restaurants, and public spaces. "We are thrilled to be the latest stewards of this oceanfront inn in Rockport, Massachusetts," said Peter Twachtman, chief operating officer of Migis Hotel Group. "We're excited to be adding this historic waterfront gem to our growing hotelportfolio and introduce the Migis standard of service and hospitality to the northern coast of Massachusetts." Open year round, Emerson Inn by the Sea is an ideal destination spring, summer, fall and winter. Guests can easily access the town for a leisurely stroll or head to Gloucester for marine-life adventure snorkeling and hiking among the fall foliage or along the shore of Cape Ann. "We look forward to establishing Emerson Inn by the Sea as one of the area's top lodging choices and are committed to building upon the strong presence and reputation the Inn has gained over the years," said Phil Kronenthal, director of operations. Founded in 1968 Migis Hotel Group, a family owned and operated hotel management company based in Maine, oversees hotels located in Maine, Vermont, and now Massachusetts. Their collection of up-scale hotels and resorts are dedicated to creating a world of relaxation, recreation, and welcome in extraordinary waterfront settings. The Migis portfolio of properties includes Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake, Black Point Inn on Prouts Neck, The Inn at Ocean's Edge in Lincolnville, The Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort in Ogunquit, Shire Woodstock in Woodstock, VT, and Emerson Inn By The Sea in Rockport, Mass.
