Rob Nahigian with the SIOR Indiana/KY chapter board.

Indianapolis, IN On March 9 the SIOR Indiana/KY chapter invited New England chapter member, Rob Nahigian of Auburndale Realty to speak about logistics and supply chain real estate decisions in the U.S. The event was held at the Indianapolis Club in downtown Indiana and attracted 30 SIORs from Indiana and Ohio. This course lead the student from a foundational base of industrial uses, operational challenges, real estate selections and moved into the labor and inventory measurement metrics. New game changers with rail, air, trucking and shipping as a logistical service delivery were explored. The program shared corporate evaluation spreadsheets, visual slide show of east and west coast infrastructure that immediately exposed the advantages and disadvantages for each geographical area. The industrial supply chain will be a different landscape in the next 2 years. The program also reviewed the integrated efficiency within a warehouse that plays a part in the final decision making. The information was beneficial to both landlord and tenant brokers as the attendees were issued real estate models to understand how companies are rating real estate decisions beyond rental rates. The chapter held a reception after the afternoon program.
