Nesea's April workshops

March 24, 2010 - Green Buildings
The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) invites you to attend two sustainability workshops: "Residential Retrofits for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability," to be held in Brockton on April 15 and "Introduction to Building Science Thermography," to be held in Manchester on April 22.
Instructed by Larry Harmon, vice president, Air Barrier Solutions, LLC, "Residential Retrofits for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability" includes a detailed review of air sealing and insulation techniques designed to significantly reduce energy consumption in existing buildings. Find out how to reap substantial increases in comfort, affordability, resource efficiency, health, safety, and durability.
"Introduction to Building Science Thermography" will be instructed by Michael Browne, certified building science thermographer and principal of Advanced Building Analysis, LLC. This workshop introduces the use of thermography to detect insulation defects and air leakage in building envelopes, diagnose heat loss and determine the best methods for insulating and air-sealing a building. General building diagnostic techniques including the combined use of moisture meters and blower doors with infrared cameras will be covered.
NESEA's sustainability workshop series serves professionals by broadening their knowledge on a wide range of critical topics that focus on three core elements: sustainable solutions, proven results and cutting-edge development in the field. This workshop is accredited by AIA, BOMI, BPI, InterNACHI, NAHB, and NARI. Attendees will receive seven continuing education units.
Additional, sustainability workshops include: "Introduction to Passive House" May 13, Berlin, Conn. and May 15, Providence and "Scorekeeping: Benchmarking and Monitoring Energy Performance" June 9, Manchester, NH.
Each workshop fee is $295 and runs from 9 a.m. -
5 p.m. NESEA member fee is $270. Registration is limited and is taken on a first come first serve basis.
Sponsors of the Spring 2010 Series include: Affordable Comfort Conference, Build Green New Hampshire, Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, Home Builders and Remodelers Association of New Hampshire, Massasoit Community College, The Public Service of New Hampshire/Northeast Utilities System, and Unitil.
