New England Women In Energy and the Environment to host their Sixth Annual Awards Gala - April 14 at Colonnade Hotel

Boston, MA New England Women In Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) will host their Sixth Annual Awards Gala recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of leaders in the fields of energy and environment on Thursday, April 14, from 6-9 p.m. at The Colonnade Hotel.

“NEWIEE has come a long way since its beginning in 2008 – and its growth, impact and opportunities continue,” said Beth Barton, partner at the law firm of Day Pitney, LLP and president of NEWIEE. “As we look ahead to our Sixth Annual Awards Gala, we are very pleased with and honored by the breadth and depth of involvement of so many who continually inspire, mentor and collaborate. NEWIEE’s members, taken together, afford an amazing network of New England energy and environmental professionals. I hope you are able to join us at this year’s Awards Gala. This year’s keynote speaker will be Mary Powell, president and chief executive officer of Green Mountain Power. She will be joined by the following four awardees.

• Marion Gold, Ph.D., commissioner, Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources;

• Penni McLean-Conner, chief customer officer & senior vice president, Customer Group, Eversource Energy

NEWIEE Rising Star Award in honor of Allison Smith – New Award for a woman who has worked with passion and promise in energy and environment for ten years or less.
