New infrastructure projects approved at bond commission meeting

At the December 10th bond commission meeting, several new infrastructure projects were approved. Items approved include $15 million for Town Aid Road Grant program, $476,000 toward improvements at vo-tech schools, $3.5 million to upgrades at CT Valley Hospital, $9 million to finance resurfacing and bridge rehabilitation on the Merritt Parkway in Stamford and New Canaan, $24 million for CT bridges - replacements and rehabs, $860,000 equipment for towns and municipalities, $170 million to expand parking lot of Waterbury Rail Station, $55 million DECD housing initiatives, $7.5 million for local capital improvements (such as local water treatment facilities, sewers, road resurfacing), and the authorization to issue and sell Clean Water Fund Revenue Bonds up to $250 million.
