National Indemnity Company, a leading property/casualty insurance firm, has renewed its lease commitment for 17,000 s/f at First Stamford Place for the next 10 years, according to Jeffrey Newman, executive vice president of Malkin Properties, the marketing and management agent for the three-building, 810,000 s/f First Stamford Place office complex.
Founded in 1940 and based in Omaha, Neb., National Indemnity has blossomed from its original four-man incarnation into a major arm of the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies. This lease marks the second renewal for National Indemnity, whose tenancy on the second floor of 100 First Stamford Place began in 1995 and will now last through 2020.
"We couldn't be more excited to have National Indemnity continue its occupancy at 100 First Stamford Place," said Newman. "The level of commitment National Indemnity has to its founding principles mirrors the commitment Malkin Properties shows toward its tenants. We will continue to provide the broad range of amenities and hands-on, full service building management that all of our tenants appreciate and deserve."
Newman represented the landlord in this transaction. The tenant was represented by Rob Martin of Jones Lang LaSalle and Amanda Bokman and Steve Greenbush of CB Richard Ellis.
The newly renovated Hilton Stamford Hotel, a 500-room luxury hotel with one of the largest banquet facilities in Fairfield County, is located directly adjacent to the property.
Malkin Properties is the real estate management, marketing and acquisition arm of the Malkin family, which has commercial and residential operations in seven states.
