Newton-Wellesley Hosp. selects Walsh Bros. as CM for oncology center
Newton-Wellesley Hospital has selected Walsh Brothers, Inc. as its construction manager for the Joan and James Vernon Cancer Center.
This project will require the demolition of the hospital's current emergency department in order to lay the ground work for the foundation of the one-story addition and renovation.
Walsh Brothers will guide the complex construction process, which will require careful phasing and logistics to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations in the hospital buildings bordering the site. The Vernon Cancer Center will house a state-of-the-art radiation-oncology department.
The 25,000 s/f Vernon Cancer Center is scheduled to open in 2009.
