Northeast Economic Development Association conference theme in CT is: Transportation at the Crossroads-The Economic Developers Road Map

New Haven, CT Each year Northeast Economic Development Association (NEDA) convenes a conference of practitioners and thinkers who learn and do business together. Their theme in New Haven this coming year is: Transportation at the Crossroads-The Economic Developers Road Map.

This theme will help them focus the conference program on increasing economic self-sufficiency and vibrancy for citizens, businesses and communities. Economic self–sufficiency is a big idea that solidified NEDA members. The theme of “Transportation at the Crossroads” will help them bring that big idea to life. They are broadly defining transportation to include moving: people, cargo and data. In addition to theme-focused sessions, NEDA will offer select non-theme sessions that fit within its core content areas, e.g., workforce.

You are invited to submit a presentation proposal for the 2016 conference, which will be held in New Haven, September 11-13, 2016.

Deadline for submissions is Saturday January 30, 2016 at 5 p.m. see more details at http://www.nedaonline.org/#!2016-conference/jppya.

At the end of 2014, NEDA formed a professional learning group composed of members of four NEDA committees: Education, Annual Conference, Membership and Communication.  One job of the group is to identify common areas of knowledge for all NEDA programming: conference, website, webinars and workshops. The topics underlined below (in the priority topic sessions section) were the first four for common NEDA programming in 2015 and they will carry over to 2016. Over time, each topic will have a curator whose job is to scout for material and presenters to deliver in all NEDA programs. NEDA will offer sessions in New Haven in the priority topic areas related to the transportation theme.

In New Haven they plan to offer a broad array of program topics, professional tools and networking opportunities that will provide high value to conference attendees.
