Peabody Properties sponsors annual Veterans Sites Retreat at Shelburne Farm

Stow, MA The operations and ownership branch of Peabody Properties, a group of property management and real estate firms, sponsored the recent annual Veterans Sites Retreat, this year held at Shelburne Farm.

Staff from Bedford Green Apartments in Bedford and Pleasant Street Apartments in Beverly annually partner with the Bedford VAMC HUD/VASH Department (Veterans Affairs Medical Center, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) to host the retreat. This year the retreat was attended by a total of 16 case managers, supportive staff, and the Peabody Properties management staff from the two veterans communities.

April Clow, property manager at Bedford Green, organized the retreat at Shelburne Farm where participants enjoyed a hayride around the farm, lunch, apple cider and donuts and a chance to pick apples – bringing back enough for residents at Bedford Green and Pleasant Street Apartments.

“In addition to a chance to share in some fun and relax, we also had the opportunity to reflect on the past year,” said Jacquie Cope, senior resident services manager. “It was wonderful to connect off site.”

Bedford Green is a community of 69 furnished apartment homes offering permanent, supportive housing for homeless veterans and those at imminent risk of homelessness. Pleasant Street Apartments offers 32 units of permanent, supportive housing for homeless veterans.
