Petrillo of EMCOR Services N.E. achieves LEED AP

Gary Petrillo, electrical group manager at EMCOR Services New England Mechanical (NEMSI), has received accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a LEED professional. NEMSI, one of New England's leading mechanical services providers, is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a Fortune 500 leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure, and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses. The LEED professional accreditation program is rigorous, requiring participants to satisfy a number of criteria covering a wide range of sustainable construction and development issues. Accreditation identifies individuals who have the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in the green design process, support and encourage integrated design, and streamline the LEED application and certification process for buildings. The certification process for buildings uses the LEED Green Building Rating System, a consensus-based national green building standard for the construction industry. Petrillo's accreditation is part of a company-wide program whereby all key EMCOR personnel coast-to-coast will become accredited under the guidelines of USGBC's LEED program.
