Philip Poinelli, FAIA, a principal with design firm SMMA, was named to the College of Fellows by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2012 Jury of Fellows. A longtime member of the Boston Society of Architects (BSA), Poinelli served in multiple volunteer roles, including as a 20 year-member of the BSA's Educational Facilities Committee. "I've had the pleasure of working with Phil for 20 years, so I am not surprised that he earned this noteworthy distinction among his architectural peers," said Ara Krafian, PE, CEO and President of SMMA. "We are thrilled with Phil's recognition as Fellow. We celebrate this achievement with clients and colleagues who value his character, expertise and career-long contributions. We feel privileged to have Phil's passion for excellence at the firm." Poinelli is a Lecturer on educational programming and planning at the Boston Architectural College.
