Norton, MA Polar Design Build has completed the installation of a 6,000 s/f internal building cooler for Horizon Beverage. Horizon Beverage is a full line liquor distributor, and the new cooler will support its expansion into the craft beer sector.

Polar Design carried out construction within the Horizon Beverage warehouse where the firm built a temperature controlled room. It was erected with insulated metal panels that allows space for a 20-foot internal clearing height. The refrigeration for the cooler is supplied from two Bohn condensers that are located on the roof, and six air defrost evaporator coils inside the 6,000 s/f area. The temperature within the cooler will remain at a consistent 34 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit.

The internal cooler is equipped with two high-speed roll up doors and two egress man doors for through traffic. Polar Design installed LED lights along the length of the ceiling inside the cooler as well as dry pendent sprinkler heads for fire protection. In addition, there is a two-foot kicker wall positioned at the bottom exterior of the room for forklift protection. The cooler is designed to store and maintain craft beer product in bulk as it awaits distribution.

Horizon Beverage is located within the Norton Commerce Center industrial park off Rte. 495.

It is situated near other corporate office and warehouse space, hotels, restaurants, and retail stores.
