President's message: So far, so good for NH-CIBOR in 2008!

July 02, 2008 - Northern New England
This is the year that NH-CIBOR struck out on its own, leaving the nurturing attention of  NHAR (thank you, Diana and Sue). To start the year, we moved into our own offices in Bedford. Early challenges were overcome as the board of directors went into extra sessions to solve problems and reset the course of action.  With the hire of Johnna Lorry as executive officer, we began to reorganize. Some new initiatives:
- Upgraded NHCPE system coming! Be sure to take the training this summer! It has new features that will help us all do business and raise the level of presentation. We are also training the education committee who volunteer to help us all with questions.
- NH-CIBOR Cares is a new community service initiative, headed by Judy Niles-Simmons at Norwood. We are in process of setting up a charitable organization for donations, so that we can respond to events and emergencies that arise.
-The Green Series:  Heather Rowan, our affiliates chairperson, has created a series of seminars on the latest in LEED certified and environmentally friendly design & construction tools, and other tools for "going green" in real estate.
-Membership: We have 532 members ( 390 Realtor and 142 affiliates), similar to our record tally last year at this time. Very strong performance.
-Coming soon! Pay by credit card!  The CPE listing service invoices and renewal cycle begin in June.  We hope to activate a credit card payment service on the web site very soon. If it works, we will be able to use it for quarterly meeting and  education  courses, and membership in 2009. This will save us hours of processing time. Tracking, record keeping, time lags in receiving payments and getting members activated, so many advantages...bear with us as we work out the kinks.
Our ambitious goals are supported by new vigor at NH-CIBOR.  Have a terrific summer!

Tom Duffy is the president of the NH-CIBOR chapter, Concord and is a broker with PrudentialVerani Realty, Londonderry.
