Pro Con Inc. is const. manager for $5.1m elementary school reno./exp.

Work is underway on the South Londonderry Elementary School renovation and expansion project. The $5.1 million project was approved by the Londonderry voters in March and the project began in late June. Frank Marinace is the project architect and Pro Con Inc. is the construction manager. South School, located at 88 South Rd., was built in 1978 and serves 600 students in grades 1-5. Plans for the renovation of the 56,496 s/f school include the relocation of the main office, renovations to the nurse's office, special education room and conference room, replacing 60% of the roof and making repairs to the balance, and upgrading the school's sprinkler system. New equipment will be installed in the commercial kitchen and flooring with inlaid sport lines will be installed in the gymnasium. The 14,442 s/f expansion includes the removal of 8 portable classrooms, and construction of 11 permanent classrooms designed around an interior grass courtyard. The exterior of the new addition will be red brick veneer with aluminum windows to match the existing school building. Site improvements include adding 60 parking spaces and construction of a new fire road around the school. Pro Con is committed to completing the school renovations before the students return to classes this fall, and completing the new classroom addition by January 2009. Pro Con has a very reliable record of delivering projects on time and under-budget for the Londonderry School District. This is the fifth major project Pro Con has managed for the Londonderry School District. In 1992, Pro Con completed an addition to the Londonderry North Elementary School, and in 1996, Pro Con was the construction manager for the district's $10.6 million expansion and renovation project at four of the district's schools. In 2001, Pro Con completed the $3.8 million Moose Hill School and in 2002, Pro Con managed the $12M multi-phased renovation and expansion of the Londonderry High School, and the free-standing 52,000-sf gymnasium. Pro Con Inc. is a full service architecture, engineering and construction management firm specializing in commercial, hospitality, institutional, industrial and multi-family residential projects. The company is recognized as an industry leader and is known for their single source design-build delivery system, "The Diamond Solution".
