Pro Con nears completion of Carriage House Inn renovation

Pro Con Inc is the design builder for the $1.5 million renovation of the former Carriage House Inn, located on Boston Post Rd. The 32,600 s/f hotel is owned by OS Sudbury LLC, which purchased the property in September 2009. "The former Carriage House Inn is undergoing a complete transformation," said Leo Xarras, a partner in OS Sudbury LLC. "We are gutting the interior of the hotel and upgrading all the electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. The redesigned hotel will have 46 guest rooms and both the common areas and the guest rooms will be completely remodeled and refurbished." Plans call for the new lobby to include a sitting area with custom finishes, guest lounge and breakfast bar, granite topped reception desk, snack store, redesigned public restrooms, and a new elevator. The guest rooms will include several king suites, king and double queen rooms; all with bathrooms with granite vanities, new finishes, carpet and furnishings. The interior corridors will have new light fixtures, signage, carpeting and finishes. The hotel's exterior siding is being replaced and new windows are being installed throughout the building. Pro Con Inc began the hotel renovation project in January and has scheduled a May completion. The owners plan to reopen the hotel in June, before the start of the summer season. This one of several design build hospitality projects Pro Con Inc is currently managing. Pro Con Inc is the design builder for the Portwalk Residence Inn by Marriott, Portsmouth, and the Courtyard by Marriott, Keene, and is renovating the historic Ashworth by the Sea hotel, Hampton Beach.
