Professional Profile: Matthew Juros, 2013

Name: Matthew Juros Title: Principal Company: Fishbrook Design Studio Location: Haverhill, MA Birthplace: Hartford, CT Education: BA in History (Hobart and William Smith Colleges), Master of Architecture (Rice University). First job outside of real estate: Working construction and waiting tables. First job in real estate or allied field: Intern architect at my father's office. What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? Now: I have a busy architecture and interiors firm. Future: keep growing the firm by focusing on crafted, personal service and innovative design. How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? I like to take a good, hard rip on my mountain bike - that takes the edge off of the toughest day. Favorite book or author: Tim Krabbé, The Rider. Favorite movie: Sling Blade. Last song you downloaded? Big Station by Alejandro Escovedo. One word to describe your work environment: Open. Rules to live by in business: State what you're going to do then do it without fail. If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead) who would it be and where would you go? ...hmmm...I think it would be interesting to have coffee with (Swiss early modern architect) Le Corbusier at MIT's Stata Center in Cambridge. He'd have a lot to say about that building...and the coffee too, probably. What is your dream job? I have my dream job right now! I am so proud of the work we're doing at Fishbrook Design Studio. Every day I'm humbled by the quality of my colleagues and clients.
