Proficient Builders completes Emergency Department expansion project at South Shore Hospital

Proficient Builders was contracted by South Shore Hospital (SSH) to build out the expansion of their "ED West" project, an extension of treatment space for Emergency Department patients. The work involved in the planning, building and equipment fit-out of the ED extension allowed this project to come to fruition in an unprecedented time frame. Demolition began on February 11th and final inspections were completed on February 26th - in 16 days. Proficient Builders worked with many SSH departments including engineering services, environmental services, facilities planning, information systems, and security to ensure the new space would be ready as soon as feasibly possible. "South Shore Hospital would like to thank our contractor, Proficient Builders, of Danvers, Mass. for the excellent job they did on this project," said Steve Hamilton, SSH's senior project manager, facilities planning.
