Name: James Raleigh - 1966

Company: G.H. & H.L. Gross Inc.

Location: Providence, R.I.

Birthplace: St. Louis, Mo. - 1907

EDUCATION: Georgetown Univ. (class 1930) MEMBER: American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (director); American Society of R.E. After graduating college, Mr. Raleigh worked with the John Hancock Co. as a group Representative. Then he turned to ranching in Arizona. In 1941 the war broke out, and he worked with General Lucius Clay in Berlin, Germany, as an Assistant Staff Secretary. After the war interim, Mr. Raleigh returned to Providence and its real estate. It was in 1952 that he became associated with G.H. & H.L. Gross, where he is at present. For Mr. Raleigh 1965 has been his best year, and his portfolio boasts the sale of a $375,000 industrial site. The Providence area, he feels, has a fine future, "Probably due to the county’s general prosperity,” he concluded. He also noted that many people outside of R.I. activities feel that the state is a bit backward, “but that isn’t the case.”
