Education: Seton Hall University, University of Connecticut Law The most active small shopping center developer in the New England are over the past three years is Frank Properties Inc., a New York based firm for 30 years involved in investment financing and securities. The shopping center division of the firm was formed in 1963 for the purpose of building smaller centers in neighborhood areas where none existed – and the firm has successfully done this. Pantlin, who became a Frank partner in 1964, began his career with the Grand Union Company, a regional supermarket chain with over 475 stores, and was employed by them for 10 years, eventually becoming real estate manager in charge of site selection and negotiation of leases. He then became involved with the McCrory Corp. for three years as Real Estate Coordinator of the Retail Division, responsible for all transactions. In the early 1960s he became vice president of Meridian-York, a subsidiary of McCrory, handing the sale and lease-back of company real estate, while developing a warehouse program. Joining Frank in 1964, Peter became responsible for site acquisitions and in charge of its leasing department. “We have now developed 20 shopping centers, both strip and regional and one in a downtown area. We are growing out of the small shopping center field, and are starting to look to the larger type regional.” The New York State Director of International Council of Shopping Centers Inc., Peter is married with four children and in his spare time enjoys swimming and golfing.
