PWC Connecticut appoints 2023-2024 board of directors

Hartford, CT On July 1st, the Professional Women in Construction Connecticut Chapter (PWC CT) welcomed their new board for the 2023-2024 program year. Board officers and directors are elected by the PWC CT Chapter members.

Dawn Meeker stepped into the role of chapter president. Meeker is a CPA and partner at Marcum LLP. She has over 30 years’ experience in accounting in the AEC industry. When asked about her new role, she said, “I am honored to be the new president of the PWC for the 2023-2024 year. We are pleased to offer some new changes to our organization. This year our four core programs will be held at the DoubleTree in Bristol, CT. A new addition to our chapter is the future leaders committee. This will enable future leaders of your organization to network with their peers in the AEC industry. More information on the upcoming year will be sent out over the summer, and we hope to see all of you soon!”. Meeker is presently the membership committee chair and serves on the awards committee.

Amy Ray, director, business development & marketing at Babbidge Construction Company, will serve as the new chapter vice president. A recipient of the 2023 PWC CT Volunteer of the Year award, Ray also serves on the programs and communications committees.

Carolyn Kurth, CPA, CFE, of CohnReznick, brings accounting experience with her to the PWC CT board as returning treasurer. Kurth also serves on the Scholarship Committee.

Leyna Erickson, of AssuredPartners, has been re-elected to the board as secretary. In addition to her position on the PWC CT board, she continues to volunteer on the PWC Programs and Future Leaders committees.

Laurann Asklof, principal of Shipman & Goodwin, LLP, serves on the PWC CT board as a director. She will also continue to participate in the Chapter’s Mentorship Committee.

Choity Khan, associate attorney at Robinson Cole, returns for her third year on the PWC CT board as a director. She presently serves on the Mentorship Committee.

Jennifer Marks, principal at BL Companies, returns to the PWC CT board for another three-year term and her fourth year as a director. Marks serves as the Mentorship Committee chair and is a member of the Scholarship Committee.

Samantha Santos, business development engineer, Turner Construction Company, joins the board of directors. She will also serve as Chair of the newly formed Future Leaders Committee.

Christina Rossi, vice president of business, O&G Industries, joins the board of directors. She will also serve on the Programs Committee.

Allison Puzycki, director of marking at Consulting Engineering Services, joins the board of directors. She will also serve as the chair of the Communications Committee.

Blerina Pina, a contract surety - territory manager at Nationwide’s Avon office returns to the board of directors for her 3rd, non-consecutive year. Pina volunteers on the Chapter’s Mentorship Committee and is a past member of the Communications Committee.
