R.J. Finlay & Co. adds Guernsey building to its investment properties portfolio

R.J. Finlay & Co. has added the Guernsey Building, long an architectural gem and anchor in the downtown business community, to its growing regional portfolio of key commercial and multifamily properties. Developed in the 1950s as the national headquarters of the American Guernsey Cattle Club, the five-story, 51,000 s/f Guernsey Building has long stood as downtown's largest structure, today serving as multi-tenant office space for a host of local businesses. With its trademark copper roof and brick facade, the building underwent a complete restoration in the 1990s and remains among the downtown's most visually arresting spaces. R.J. Finlay acquired the site, located at 70 Main St. from Nashua-based Vear Commercial Properties, Inc. R.J. Finlay looks to play an active role in the local business community, working closely with local officials and neighbors to help revitalize one of the region's most celebrated downtown areas. "Speaking as a proud Peterborough resident, the Guernsey Building has always held a special place in the downtown business community," R.J. Finlay's CEO Robert Finlay said. "There is so much history to this space and many more exciting chapters to be written within its walls. We are excited to be taking on this extraordinary property, to be developing important new relationships, and helping to generate substantial growth and value for Peterborough residents and business owners for many years to come." The Guernsey Building joins Nashua's Indian Head Plaza, Hampton's One Liberty Lane and Bedford Crossing- the former headquarters of AAA Northern New England- as the latest landmark New Hampshire property acquired by R.J. Finlay & Co. Interested parties can contact R.J. Finlay & Co.'s Director of Leasing, Kimberly Reagan, at (603) 672-0300 or at kreagan@rjfinlay.com. R.J. Finlay & Co. is a New Hampshire-based holding company of diverse businesses and investments with a central focus on real estate. For more information, please visit www.rjfinlayco.com.
