Real Estate Finance Association hosts Year-End Celebration and Holiday Party

Boston, MA The Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) hosted its Annual Year-End Celebration and Holiday Party on Monday, November 25th at Central Wharf Co. Members had the chance to network with colleagues and friends and reflect on another successful year. REFA members and mentees also gathered for the REFA Mentor Program Wrap Up event. Participants heard from two mentor/mentee pairs about their unique experiences and insights from this year’s program.

As we wrap up another remarkable year for REFA, we look to some of its highlights:

• A strong and engaged membership with over 800 members, including 300+ Emerging Leaders, 98 Corporate Sponsors, and 200+ committee members.

• Seven in-person education events featuring some of the industry’s most notable names, including our Annual Forecasting Luncheon and the Emerging Leader Fall Panel & Reception.

• The 36th Annual REFA Gala at Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. The Gala drew support from 69 sponsors and over 600 attendees. 2017 REFA president Paul Nasser, president, Intercontinental Real Estate Corp., was honored with the Swain Distinguished Service Award for the impact he has had on the CRE industry and on Greater Boston. A portion of the proceeds will be shared with Breaktime and FamilyAid Boston.

• The Annual REFA Charitable Golf & Tennis Tournament was held July 29th at Woodland Golf Club. The tournaments raised money for both Breaktime and FamilyAid Boston, with over 130 participants.

• On October 9th, REFA held a special Corporate Sponsor Event “A Conversation with Mayor Wu.” Over 120 members joined the luncheon at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Paul Ayoub, chairman, Nutter hosted a conversation with the mayor to share her thoughts on the commercial real estate industry.

• A strong Mentorship Program with 60 Mentee/Mentor pairs, or 120 total participants. Applications for next year open January 2025.

• REFA’s Innovation committee held 2 in-person educational discussions with leading industry speakers.

• The DEI committee continued its support of the Boston DEI Collaborative and hosted an in-person networking event.
