RenewABILITY Energy Incorporated, manufacturer of Power-Pipe Drain Water Heat Recovery (DWHR) system's CSA B55.1 & CSA B55.2 certifications

Kitchener, Ontario RenewABILITY Energy Incorporated, manufacturer of Power-Pipe Drain Water Heat Recovery (DWHR) systems, reported that the Power-Pipe is the first DWHR Technology to achieve both CSA B55.1 & CSA B55.2 certifications.
"Through a consensus decision-making process involving manufacturers and industry experts, CSA (Canadian Standards Association) develops relevant safety and performance standards. CSA B55.1 is a new performance standard for the certification of Drain Water Heat Recovery systems for efficiency and pressure loss, while CSA B55.2 is a safety standard that must be complied with during the manufacturing process. Subsequent product labeling by licensed agencies such as Intertek and Underwriters Laboratories ensures the quality and performance of qualifying Drain Water Heat Recovery systems", said Joel Murray, technical support manager with RenewABILITY Energy Inc.
"We now have the ability to label over 25 Power-Pipe models with both CSA B55.1 and CSA B55.2 and many more models added in the upcoming weeks. Having the Power-Pipe labeled according to these CSA standards tells potential customers and users that a product has been evaluated by a formal process involving examination, testing, and follow-up inspection, and that it complies with applicable standards for safety and performance", noted Jonathan Cook, Operations Manager RenewABILITY Energy Inc.
"While this growing industry has been well-established for several years, building inspectors, builders, utilities, architects, engineers, retailers, dealers, installers and homeowners can all have confidence that the Drain Water Heat Recovery technology that they specify, verify, install, or use is safe, traceable, and has a rated pressure loss and efficiency. This certification allows for easy comparison and further adoption into Building Codes around the world", added Gerald Van Decker, President and CEO of RenewABILITY Energy Inc.
"Along with becoming part of Building Code in France, the UK and more recently in Ontario, Canada, the CSA certification is another major milestone that clearly shows that Drain Water Heat Recovery is a technology with proven energy and money saving benefits", noted Murray.
