In an effort to help the MDC expand operations in the South Meadows of Hartford, Joseph Sullo of South Meadows No. 2, LLC agreed to sell 235 Brainard Rd. for the sum of $2 million. The property consists of a commercial building approximately 18,936 s/f (former Cinema City) on 4.28 acres of land. David Richard of Colliers Dow & Condon represented Sullo in the transaction.
Since 1929, the Metropolitan District (MDC) has managed the Hartford region's water and sewer systems developed in the 1850s. System investmens have increased sewer system capacity and wastewater treatment capacity, to minimize sewage impact to area waterways. Now the MDC will expend more than $1 billion to improv the area's water quality and help protect the health and safety of citizens during storm events. The Clean Water Project formally addresses a federal consent decree and a Connecticut DEP consent order to achieve the Federal Clean Water Act goals. All projects must be completed by 2020.
