Russell and Bergin of Pearce Real Estate facilitates $425,000 land sale

Milford, CT According to Barbara Pearce, CEO and president of Pearce Real Estate, three Pearce Commercial Pros in the company’s Milford commercial office, represented buyer and seller in a land transaction at Lot 13, Shelland St. Carl Russell, CCIM, SIOR, and senior broker, represented the buyer, Prindle Hill Construction; and John Bergin, Pearce senior commercial specialist and DeForest (Frosty) Smith, senior vice president, represented the seller, Jordon Realty LLC.  The 1.725 acre vacant parcel of land was sold for $425,000. 

Prindle Hill Construction of Orange plans to expand its existing business by erecting a 15,000 s/f building to house equipment and supplies.

Russell, a specialist in investment analysis, has more than forty years of experience in the field of real estate. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University and an M.B A. in International Trade and Finance from Lehigh University. Russell is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) where he also is a nationally known instructor of the CCIM program. He currently is Assistant Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at New York University. He also holds membership in the Greater New Haven Association of Realtors, Connecticut Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors. He is a past president of the Connecticut CCIM Chapter, Connecticut SIOR Chapter, Connecticut CID chapter, and the Greater New Haven Association of Realtors. He has been named "Realtor of the Year" by both the Greater New Haven Board of Realtors and Connecticut Association of Realtors. He is also past president of the Rotary Club of Orange. 

Bergin has been a real estate broker since 1984, specializing in commercial and industrial lease and sale properties. Before entering the commercial real estate field, he had a fifteen year career in the information field with a Fortune 500 corporation. A lifelong resident of Milford, he received his degree in marketing and finance from Nichols College of Business Administration in Massachusetts. Over the past decade, he has been the recipient of ten CID "Deal of the Year" recognitions for land sales, industrial sales, and investment sales. He is a past president of the Milford Literacy Center, past president of The Milford Club, a director of the Milford Chamber of Commerce, member of Milford Progress, and chairman of the literacy committee for the Devon Rotary Club.

Smith began his career at Pearce in July 2012 when the Pearce Commercial Division merged with George J. Smith & Son Realtors, a Smith family-owned business which had been operating in Milford for 126 years, and where he was president. Smith is regarded nationwide as a leader in the field of real estate. A graduate of Yale University with a degree in International Economics, he is the only Realtor in the United States to simultaneously hold the designations of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), Graduate - Realtors Institute (GRI), and Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB). He has been a senior instructor for the Realtors National Marketing Institute for 30 years, spending four to six weeks each year lecturing throughout the country on investments, taxes, and commercial and industrial real estate.  Smith was also appointed an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at New York University (NYU) School of Graduate Studies. He has served as president of the greater New Haven Association of Realtors, and was voted Realtor of the Year in 1985. In 2008, the Connecticut Association of Realtors honored Smith with the "Harry W. Wenz Good Neighbor Award" in recognition of his lifetime of volunteer service. He is a past president of both the state Commercial Investment Division and the state CCIM Chapter.
