S/L/A/M and Gilbane break ground on Bradley Hospital expansion

Bradley Hospital recently broke ground on a new 44,000 s/f addition to its 5-building Riverside campus at 1011 Veterans Memorial Parkway.
The $31.1 million project will include the renovation of two buildings, the Laufer Building (originally built in 1931 as the hospital) and the Swan House. Completion for the 3-phase revitalization is scheduled for the fall of 2009.
The first phase involves the construction of a 2-story building which will add 60 private rooms,.
Phase 2 will renovate the Laufer Building for outpatient/partial-hospitalization programs for children and adolescents and research space.
And the renovation of the Swan House will conclude the project. This is for the relocation of the CRAFT program.
The project design was provided by The S/L/A/M Collaborative. Gilbane Building, Inc. is providing construction management services.
Bradley Hospital is a member of the nonprofit Lifespan health care system, which also includes The Miriam, Newport and Rhode Island and Hasbro Children's hospitals.
