Shapiro joins Dacon Corporation as director of business development

Natick, MA Joy Shapiro has joined Dacon Corporation, the design/build engineering and construction management firm. Shapiro has accepted a position of director of business development for the 31-year-old firm.

Shapiro will be responsible for business development in the corporate, high-tech and R&D, medical, lab and life sciences, and non-profit sectors for Dacon. She has over 13 years of experience in marketing and sales at STV|DPM. Prior to joining Diversified Project Management, Shapiro was an executive marketing manager at Healy Hudson Corp. where she was responsible for conducting weekly sales meetings for all satellite sales representatives and executives, maintaining the CRM, and coordinating trade shows.

Shapiro has a BA in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Salem State University in Salem, Mass. She is the recipient of the International Facilities Management Association’s (IFMA) 2011 President’s Award and the 2008 Distinguished Associate Member of the Year Award. Shapiro has served as co-chair of IFMA’s membership committee since 2005, and chair of IFMA World Work Place on behalf of the Boston chapter for the past ten years. She recently has accepted a position on the board of director as the vice president of special events. Shapiro is also an active member of CoreNet New England and sits on the association’s program committee. She previously sat on the membership committee for the National Association of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP) and continues to volunteer for the organization.
