The law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA is proud to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the firm and its 10th year anniversaries in both Boston, Mass. and Hanover, N.H.
The firm has several events planned to honor the spirit of the founding partners who helped establish the firm's sterling reputation.
Joseph DiBrigida, Jr., president and managing director of Sheehan Phinney said, "We believe that our growth and success have been the direct result of consistently focusing on our core values - commitment to client needs, an atmosphere of teamwork, and volunteer service in the communities where we live and work. These values have guided our actions for 75 years and will continue to do so in the future."
The firm was established in 1937 by renowned trial lawyer, John. Sheehan, and a young FBI attorney, William Phinney, in Manchester, N.H. While both saw active duty in World War II, they returned to an active law practice and soon Perkins Bass, a military intelligence officer and former law clerk, and another young attorney and fellow veteran, William Green, joined the firm. Together these four founding partners provided a solid foundation for the future. They also established one of the hallmarks of the firm today - a commitment to public service. Sheehan served as U.S. Attorney for the State of New Hampshire, Phinney served as Attorney General of New Hampshire, Bass served four terms in the U.S. Congress and Green served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Hampshire and later was appointed the First Deputy General.
Over the years, Sheehan Phinney has grown steadily both in size and reputation, attracting national and international clients and was the first New Hampshire law firm to open an office in downtown Boston. With 65 attorneys and 53 staff members, the firm is now one of New England's most prominent law firms. The Sheehan Phinney Capitol Group, one of the largest lobbying groups in New Hampshire, is also an affiliate of the firm.
