The Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Chapter of SIOR recently held its quarterly Winter meeting at the Woodway Country Club in Darien, CT. In addition to a regular business meeting, members and guests were treated to a cocktail hour, dinner, and bowling together at the Club's facilities.
The Chapter would like to thank Claris Construction, sponsor of the event, and Doug Kenyon from Claris who enjoyed the evening's activities with the rest of the group.
Informal market reports were shared by all in attendance. Common themes are the economy and real estate markets appear to be slowly recovering with more activity over the past several months and lower, possibly significantly lower, pricing levels compared to four to five years ago. Most members share a sense of guarded optimism for the coming year, given the current activity in the market, as well as lending institutions being in an excellent position to finance qualified projects.
