In September, the Connecticut/Western Massachusetts Chapter of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) co-sponsored a continuing education event in North Haven in conjunction with the Connecticut Chapter of CCIM. Two continuing education courses were offered, providing participants six CE credits towards their license renewal.
The two courses were divided into a morning and afternoon session, with lunch provided in between. The morning session was 6 Dangerous Trends Facing Commercial Property Owners Today, followed by Organizing and Implementing an Appropriate Site Selection Methodology in the afternoon.
The instructor for both sessions was Anthony Colavolpe, who has over 37 years of experience in the development and ownership of real estate, and most recently as the senior vice president of real estate for Stop & Shop and Giant Supermarket companies. During Colavolpe's tenure at Stop & Shop, he participated in the successful completion of numerous store projects and coordinated supermarket acquisitions/dispositions, store conversions, and investment transactions. He is also credited with personally delivering some of the company's most profitable stores, many of which prior to his involvement were unable to move forward.
