On Tuesday, May 17^th, BOMA hosted a Roundtable Event: What 2022 Looks Like for the CRE Market. Shawn Carroll, director, CBRE, Inc. moderated the panel discussion. The panelists included: Elizabeth Berthelette, director of research, Newmark; Ashley Dunn, AIA, associate principal & director of workplace, Dyer Brown & Associates and Tim Martin, managing director of property management and national lead of life sciences property management, JLL.

Over 250 commercial real estate professionals attended BOMA’s Annual Springfest on Thursday, May 19^th at Bostonia Public House. On Thursday, May 26^th, BOMA Boston hosted a Tech Tour: Cannistraro Fabrication Facility at Black Falcon Pier. “The Fid” as it’s called which stands for (F)abrication, (I)ndustry, (D)esign is a 160,000 s/f manufacturing facility, which is equivalent to four acres. The building was originally built for the U.S. Navy as a metal fabrication shop and ship repair facility in 1941 to support the efforts of WWII. A complete renovation of the facility was finished in June of 2018. Close to 30 engineers and facility managers enjoyed the tour and learned about the state-of-the-art facility.

On Thursday, July 14^th, BOMA will be hosting a Roundtable on Insights from the Pros. The roundtable will be led by Phil Boccalatte, vice president, Rockhill Management; Chuck Hurchalla, president, Evolution Energy Partners; Gregg Laufersweiler, vice president, sales and marketing, Stanley Elevator; and Clayton Wentworth, RPA, vice president-portfolio manager, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., BOMA 2022 treasurer. They will focus on utilities, elevators, real estate taxes, janitorial contracts and supplies, along with opening the conversation to discuss other operating expenses as time permits. This BOMA Roundtable is hosted by the programs & education committee and sponsored by Evolution Energy Partners and Stanley Elevator.

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations.
