Skanska promotes Caliva to vice president of development in the U.S.

Boston, MA Skanska USA Commercial Development has promoted Mike Caliva to vice president of development in the U.S. In this role, he will take on expanded responsibility within the local office and CDUS and will continue his role leading the teams responsible for the development of 380 Stuart St., as well as the first residential building and one of the life sciences buildings of Longwood Place.

Since joining Skanska in 2018, Caliva has advanced rapidly to become a senior leader in the city’s office. His wealth of experience in real estate underwriting, finance, acquisition and dispositions has been essential to many of the region’s most noteworthy successes, including completion of the Two Drydock construction, leasing, and sales processes, the acquisition, design and entitlement of 380 Stuart, and the design at Longwood Place. 

Outside of Skanska, Caliva is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association board of directors, serving as its co-chair of the membership committee and a member of the mentorship program. He remains an active member of NAIOP’s Boston chapter and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Regional Real Estate Development Council. Caliva also serves on the board of directors of Project Place, a Boston-based nonprofit that provides skills, education, and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness to obtain and sustain employment and housing.
