This year, Earth Day held special meaning for two Framingham-based companies. On April 22, Conigliaro Industries celebrated its 20th anniversary with a "Flip the Switch" ceremony for its new 63KW PV solar array installed by SolarFlair Energy, Inc. The event included a ceremony and tour of the Conigliaro facility highlighting the environmentally friendly strategy of the business and showcasing their new PV solar installation via a real time web based monitoring system. "We are proud to help Conigliaro Industries achieve their clean energy goals" said Matt Arner, president of SolarFlair Energy.
The system was designed and installed by SolarFlair Energy. in partnership with Synergy Investments. It includes 315 SunTech 200W solar panels and an inverter manufactured by Solectria Renewables. SolarFlair created a unique financing product for this project that allowed Conigliaro to avoid upfront capital costs and instead pay for the system over time with the utility savings.
This allows Conigliaro to start saving money from day one. Total electrical savings will be more than $1 million over the 25 year life of the system. Through the Commonwealth Solar Program and a grant from the Federal Stimulus Package, SolarFlair was able to secure rebates worth more than 60% of the system cost.
