Springfield Crossing unveils next wave of tenants for summer 2026

Springfield, MA Springfield Crossing continues to gain momentum with the signing of several new tenants set to open in the coming months. Developed by Onyx Partners, Ltd. and located at 1655 Boston Rd., the project is emerging as Western Massachusetts’ premier retail and community hub.

Anchoring the next phase of development, Target is set to open this summer - marking a major milestone for the property. The arrival will introduce one of the first Target locations in the immediate trade area, bringing a one-stop shopping experience to one of the region’s most heavily trafficked commercial corridors.

The opening further reinforces Springfield Crossing’s position as a dominant retail destination, offering a curated mix of national brands, dining, and service-oriented tenants designed to meet the evolving needs of the region.

Joining the lineup this summer:

• Chase Bank

• Playa Bowls

• Be Young Day Spa

• Beyond Oishii

These additions build on the center’s initial phase, which launched in late 2025 with BJ’s Wholesale Club and its affiliated gas station - establishing a strong foundation for continued growth.

Springfield Crossing is designed as the dominant retail destination along Boston Rd. - widely recognized as the most heavily trafficked commercial corridor in Western Massachusetts - and introduces the market’s first true open-air power center format.

The development reflects the evolution of modern retail: an accessible, open-air environment anchored by leading national tenants and complemented by dining and service offerings, all thoughtfully curated to serve and engage the region’s more than 600,000 residents.

The project also represents a significant transformation of the former Eastfield Mall site. Originally opened in 1968, the mall served as the region’s primary enclosed shopping destination for more than five decades. Following years of anchor departures including JCPenney, Steiger’s, Sears, and Cinemark- the property was acquired in 2023 and reimagined as a ground-up, open-air retail destination aligned with today’s consumer preferences.

“We’re excited to welcome this next wave of tenants as we continue to build a destination that meets the everyday needs of the region while creating a vibrant place for people to shop, dine, and connect,” said Anton Malchionda, founder of Onyx Partners, LTD.

Additional tenant announcements and grand opening celebrations will be shared in the coming months as Springfield Crossing continues to expand.
