Sweeney named 2022 Realtor of the Year of the Rhode Island Commercial and Appraisal Board of Realtors

Providence, RI Thomas Sweeney, SIOR, principle of Sweeney Real Estate & Appraisal has been selected as the 2022 Realtor of the Year of the Rhode Island Commercial and Appraisal Board of Realtors. This award is based on his outstanding contributions and leadership in the real estate industry.

Sweeney has been a member of the Realtor community since he started in real estate almost 40 years ago and has always been an advocate for involvement in the RICABOR. Sweeney served as president of RICABOR in 2021 and is now the immediate past president. He also serves as secretary with the Rhode Island Association of Realtors board. Sweeney has also held an active industrial SIOR designation for 20+ years.

Sweeney is a seasoned commercial Realtor and is considered a leader. With over 40 years of executive-level experience spanning the full spectrum of real estate transactions, he has a proven track-record in managing complex commercial ventures.

Beyond his commercial real estate life, Sweeney has maintained a significant commitment to civic involvement and community service which include Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce trustee, Providence Foundation board of trustees, Leadership Rhode Island/Sigma Class of 1998, Warwick Rotarian, board of directors Boys & Girls Club of Warwick, president-—Boys & Girls Club Alliance, member and past president Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and the city of Warwick Board of Tax Assessment Review.

Sweeney will receive this award at the RICABOR annual meeting on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
