Boston, MA Robert Cunningham, CIPD, CPE, an engineering executive with more than 25 years of experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors, has joined Syska Hennessy Group as associate managing director and associate partner for the firm’s local office. In his new role, he will oversee the office and the team, cultivate new business, and manage client relationships.

“We’ve been ramping up our life sciences business over the past few years,” said Cyrus Izzo, co-president of Syska.  “Robert is a key hire who will spearhead our continued growth in this increasingly important area, which is a major economic driver in Boston.” 

Previously, Mr. Cunningham served as the national science and technology practice leader for AKF Group.  In this capacity, he grew strategic relationships and developed new business opportunities across AKF’s 10 offices.

His experience to date encompasses projects for some of the biggest names in healthcare and pharma, including Harvard University Medical School, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Biogen, Inc., Bristol Myers Squibb Company, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, UMASS Medical Center, Cornell University, and Medimmune, to name a few.

A resident of Melrose, Massachusetts, Mr. Cunningham studied at Northeastern University, Franklin Institute of Technology, Oklahoma State University, and North Shore Community College.   He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association.
