Shawmut Design and Construction has appointed Roland Tang to director of business development. In his new role, Tang will be tasked with establishing new relationships and reinforcing Shawmut's current partnerships in the academic sector.
"With more than 25 years in the industry, Roland has a proven track record of successfully building and strengthening relationships with New England's elite academic institutions," said William Hughes, president. "Roland is an outstanding addition to our business development team, and will play a key role in Shawmut's continued growth."
Tang joined Shawmut in September of this year. Prior to that, he served as the director of business development at Erland Construction. In that time, he cultivated long-lasting relationships with many of the region's premier academic institutions, including Brandeis University, Springfield College, St. Mark's School, St. Sebastian's School, and Beaver Country Day School. He has also served as director of business development at ADD, Inc., and as marketing director at Ann Beha Architects.
Roland holds a bachelor of architecture from the University of Notre Dame, as well as an M.B.A. from Boston College. He is a member of the Society of College and University Planners, Association of Independent Schools of New England, the Boston Society of Architects, and the alumni associations of the University of Notre Dame and Boston College.
