Braintree, MA Liz Tavares, Esq., a commercial broker with Jay Nuss Realty Group, has been honored by the Charles River Regional Chamber of Commerce as a recent “Volunteer of the Month.”

Tavares, along with Michelle Simons of Brecher, Wyner, Simons, Fox & Bolan P.C., and Lise Elcock, the chamber’s membership director and committee liason, have taken the lead as co-chairs of the Chamber’s Women’s Impact Network, helping to guide its growth and planning events for the community along with the chamber team. She and her co-chair were also recognized for their role in establishing engaging discussions and empowering female professsionals who are members of this robust chamber.

The group includes more than 40 professionals who meet regularly to exchange referrals, network, and hear from inspirational speakers – and most importantly, build and foster relationships among their peer group.

Tavares said, “I had the chance to introduce the Captain of the USS Constitution not too long ago. Commander Billie Farrell, who became the 77th commanding officer of the USS Constitution on Friday, and the first woman to serve as captain in the ship’s 224-year history, was a guest speaker at the group.

“It’s a great Chamber to be a part of,” said Tavares, adding, “I’m grateful for the chance to help with the Women’s Impact Network and be part of a group with so many up-and-coming professionals. The Chamber does a lot to advocate for businesses throughout the region, and we all benefit from their efforts.”

Jay Nuss, principal at Jay Nuss Realty Group, said, “We are proud of Liz’s work not only here at Jay Nuss Realty Group but for her community outreach. She has been an active participant in the Charles River Regional Chamber as well as with the Rotary Club of Newton. Liz brings value wherever she goes.”
