TEAM IREM Boston raises $25,000 for Best Buddies

On April 14 TEAM IREM Boston took to the ice at Mark Bavis Arena in Rockland, Mass. as part of a four team hockey tournament partnering with Best Buddies, The Tom Brady Foundation, Team Surge, and The Simon Companies, all to raise funding and awareness for The Best Buddies Organization and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Nearly 300 people attended this event which resulted in IREM Boston raising $25,000 to be donated to Best Buddies. The event was open to the public, admission was free, and the day included three premiere hockey games, one champion, an inspiring on ice ceremony awarding the 2018 Boston IREM/TEAM Surge Best Buddy award to the Abington High School Boys Hockey Team. The event was a successful collaboration and included a wealth of IREM members volunteering their day to make this a tremendous success. A gigantic thank you to all of the Friends of IREM and our sponsors.

IREM Boston held their annual wine dinner and networking event on April 11. With 85 people in attendance the presenter from Horizon Liquors’ was absolutely amazing. The head chef, David Tedesco at Granite Links Golf Club prepared an amazing meal and paired the wine perfectly. Special thank you for our sponsors: The Flynn Law Group and Norfolk Companies.

On May3 IREM will hold its annual Friends of IREM Appreciation lunch, admission is free to members who are encouraged to bring a future friend of IREM. 

IREM will host the 2018 Super Regional Conference this June in the Seaport District. This three day leadership conference will bring IREM leaders together from Virginia to Maine. A networking event at Morton’s Banquet facility on June 21 will highlight the week’s events. To register please visit IREM.org.
