Stamford, CT The Ashforth Company has appointed seasoned financial executive Melissa Sullivan as its chief financial officer.

In July 2022, The Ashforth Company announced that its board of directors adopted an 18-month succession plan to promote Ryan Harvey to chief executive officer effective January 1, 2024. Until that time Ryan Harvey is co-CEO alongside Andrew Ashforth.

She brings extensive leadership experience with deep expertise in real estate, investment, and family office financial management that will help steer our overall financial strategy and ensure we are well-positioned for continued success,” said Harvey.

Sullivan has over 20 years of professional experience and is a certified public accountant. As CFO, Sullivan is responsible for the overall finance and accounting operations of the company and its property management and construction divisions. She oversees financial reporting, procedures, controls, audits, and information technology. In addition to having responsibility for the financial strategy of the company, Sullivan is also involved in new company initiatives, strategic planning, real estate acquisitions, and other investments.

Prior to joining Ashforth, she was CFO at Rosen Equities, LLC where she led both operating businesses and family office functions. Prior to this, she held increasing financial management leadership roles for over 10 years at Belfer Management, LLC, a diversified family investment firm that focuses on the energy, real estate, and financial services industries. Sullivan began her career in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers before her role as controller at the private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, where she oversaw accounting and reporting for three distressed debt funds. 

Sullivan holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University with a focus on real estate finance and a B.A. from Binghamton University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Sullivan is a resident of Eastchester, NY.
