Stamford, CT The Hazel Stamford, a new rental building located near the waterfront and minutes from Metro North trains into Manhattan, has officially launched leasing for its 183 upscale apartments.

Developed by Alpine Residential and Fields Grade, the seven-story building offers a mix of studio and one-bedroom homes and a full suite of resort-style, socially-infused lifestyle amenities.

The Hazel’s 44 John St. location lies within Harbor Point, a waterfront destination teeming with eclectic shops and restaurants, acres of parks, a boardwalk, world-class marinas and year-round programming. The building is also walkable to downtown’s shopping, dining and nightlife scene, and the Stamford Train Station with direct service into New York City’s Grand Central Station.

The Hazel debuts with a fully-furnished model and leasing center that showcases the design-driven and amenity-rich lifestyle residents will enjoy at the building. Initial occupancy is scheduled for late September.

The Hazel’s leasing program and management is being conducted by the developer’s affiliated management company, South Oxford Management.

“The vibrancy and energy of Stamford and its great access to Manhattan has made the city one of the more popular residential destinations in New York City’s northern suburbs,” said Bill Rosato, managing partner of Alpine Residential. “We’re excited to add a new rental option to the mix that will open up this dynamic location neatly tucked between the Long Island Sound and Stamford’s bustling downtown to future residents.”

With architecture by Newman Architects, The Hazel features thought-out and versatile floorplans lined with designer interior features including nine-foot-plus ceilings, luxury plank flooring, custom modular closets, complimentary window treatments, in-home washer and dryer and smart lock entry. Gourmet kitchens are outfitted with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, soft-close cabinetry, full-height backsplashes, and under-cabinet lighting, while spa-like baths are lavishly appointed.

The lifestyle at The Hazel extends to its curated amenities. Hotel-inspired outdoor spaces include a landscaped rooftop terrace with barbecues and a covered dining area, and a roof deck pool with pergola seating areas and chaise lounges. Inside, residents can enjoy a lounge with co-working space and a demonstration kitchen, and a fitness center. Conveniences include a package room, bike storage, and an enclosed parking garage with electric vehicle charging stations. Another unique amenity at The Hazel is TULU, an on-demand smart rental store for high-quality household and lifestyle products.

The Hazel also features 2,475 s/f of street-level retail and public community space that in part will house Hudson Table, an interactive culinary experience designed to educate people on all things food while serving as an alternative form of recreation through cooking demonstrations and hands-on classes. The Hazel represents Hudson House’s fourth installment following outposts in Brooklyn and Philadelphia and its flagship location in Hoboken, NJ. The balance of the space will be utilized for community programming and available for Hazel resident events.

The Hazel’s Harbor Point location in the city’s South End, a 322-acre peninsula on Long Island Sound, places residents in the heart of a lively community where a relaxed, waterfront vibe mixes with urban energy.

Restaurants run the gamut of culinary styles, from surf and turf at Prime, authentic Italian cuisine at Fortina, and a Mexican-inspired menu at Mexicue to all-natural, sustainable burgers and salads at Bareburger’s, seafood at the waterfront Crab Shell, and elevated comfort food and drinks at the contemporary gastropub and rooftop bar, Sign of the Whale. The waterfront bustles with boaters and programmed events in the summertime, including Pilates on the Boardwalk, Flow Yoga in the Courtyard, live music in Commons Park, and more. At the base of the peninsula, Kosciuszko Park has a looped walking trail, ball fields and a playground.

Downtown Stamford is also well-known for its dynamic offering of culture and arts, shopping, dining and nightlife. Signature events include Restaurant Week, concerts such as the hugely popular Alive at Five, outdoor fitness classes and more. The heart of the Fairfield County city, Downtown Stamford boasts over 80 dining establishments, boutique and brand name shopping, movie theatres, two musical performance venues, art galleries and much more.

The Hazel’s commuter friendly location is enhanced by its proximity to the Stamford Train Station, which offers Metro North and Amtrak rail service, and Interstate 95 and Route 1.
