Certified Property Management designation

If you are in the profession of residential or commercial property management, consider the opportunities that an IREM Certified Property Management (CPM) designation can give you, your clients and your property. Consider being one of the 8,600 CPM members and the 2,950 CPM candidates affiliated with Institute of Real Estate Management. Within the Real Estate Industry, the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation is the most prestigious.

Recognized and strongly promoted by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the achievement of CPM status is a mark of excellence that property owners and investors worldwide look to for management services because of their high level of professionalism, up-to-date knowledge and vast experience. IREM awards the CPM designation in their ongoing efforts to increase awareness of the property management profession. Becoming a CPM candidate opens new connections, provides tools for outreach to other professionals and organizations, and creates networking opportunities.
To become a CPM the first step is easy: apply for CPM candidacy through IREM at www.irem.org. Experience requirements, references, education and submission of an in depth management plan are the core to becoming a CPM. Upon approval of candidacy, applicants have a ten-year period to complete the intensive requirements. Education format varies from home study, teacher led on-line study or classroom format. Candidates may also apply for scholarships through the IREM Foundation or Greater Rhode Island Chapter 88 to assist them in their education.

The IREM Greater Rhode Island Chapter No. 88 diligently pursues the mission to promote professional integrity with education and training. We recently streamlined the Chapter 88 scholarship program and process to make it easy for CPM Candidates to take advantage of available scholarship funds. A CPM has what it takes . . . experience, education, ethics and a commitment to lifelong learning. To move forward in your professional life as a Certified Property Manager or find out more about the scholarships available, contact our local chapter at [email protected], or IREM National at www.irem.org.
