David Stubblebine and James Stubblebine, principals of The Stubblebine Co., and Alan Ringuette, senior advisor, procured the buyer directly, Academy of Creative Arts, and represented the seller, Burlington Recreation Group.
Built by the seller in 1977 during the height of the racquetball craze, the property has been the site of several successful health clubs including Gold’s Gym, Mad Maggie’s, and Empire Fitness. The Academy of Creative Arts, currently located at 217 Middlesex Turnpike, offers a wide variety of instruction in all areas of creative arts.
The Stubblebine Company/CORFAC International specializes in the sale and lease of industrial/commercial properties throughout New England. The Stubblebine Co. was formed in 1987 by the late Robert D. Stubblebine and its current president David Stubblebine. In late 1966, Robert Stubblebine began his real estate career at Whittier Partners in Boston, after receiving a master in Business Administration from Cornell University. He also co-founded the Real Estate Cooperative in 1978 and during 12 of his 29 years in real estate, he was an equity partner that developed high-tech manufacturing and warehouse properties in Boston and neighboring communities.
