Approximately 1,262 local children were impacted by the volunteer efforts of 150 of Boston's commercial real estate (CRE) and architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) professionals at this year's Community Connect day of service. On April 10th, members of seven CRE and A/E/C organizations devoted the afternoon to helping sort, organize and package donated clothing and children's items at Cradles to Crayons' warehouse.
Cradles to Crayons' mission is to provide children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school and at play. The organization depends upon the efforts of volunteers to process and package donations, which are distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners.
The following organizations participated in this year's Community Connect day of service:
* AAREP New England;
* Boston Society of Architects (BSA);
* CoreNet Global New England;
* NAIOP Massachusetts;
* New England Women in Real Estate (NEWiRE);
* Society for Marketing Professionals (SMPS) Boston Chapter; and
* Urban Land Institute (ULI) Boston.
Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school and at play. The organization supplies these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need.
