Top Moody’s economist headlines panel for CT CCIM Chapter Mid-Year Symposium

West Haven, CT On June 6, the Connecticut CCIM Chapter welcomes Dr. Thomas LaSalvia, head of commercial real estate economics for Moody’s Analytics as the keynote speaker of its mid-year economic symposium taking place at the University of New Haven.

Dr. LaSalvia will lead the panel with insights as to where commercial real estate markets may be headed in 2024. Leveraging key figures like inflation, housing data, and confidence indices, the panel will examine major trends that impact primary CRE sectors like office, industrial, retail, and multifamily. 

He specializes in commercial real estate across all property types and curates CRE models and supported credit risk analysis for a variety of clients. While his expertise encompasses space and capital market performance, Dr. LaSalvia’s keen interest lies within the subdiscipline of optimal location theory. 

Rounding out the panel are top industry analysts Armando Rodriguez, Ph.D., and Joseph McBride, CFA.

Dr. Rodriguez is professor of economics and business analytics at the University of New Haven. He is an authority on forensic economics, competition policy and regulation, and an expert on discerning key information from published economic performance rankings by using machine learning algorithms.

Joseph McBride, CFA, heads information solutions at Moody’s Analytics CRE, driving product strategy for CRE data businesses. With deep expertise in CMBS and CRE, he focuses on developing products for clients investing, lending, brokering, valuing, and managing risk in commercial real estate. His research and analysis has been cited in major industry and mainstream. Prior to joining Moody’s Analytics, McBride worked in several departments at Trepp, leading research, product development, and strategic initiatives.

The panel will be moderated by Stanley Gniazdowski, CRE, CCIM, president of Realty Concepts, Inc. a Connecticut based International real estate consulting and advisory group. 

He specializes in investment analysis and structuring, development market analysis and impact analysis, litigation support, specialized appraisal work and asset management.
