Triumph completes modular school building relocation project

Triumph has completed one of the largest modular building relocation projects in New England history, providing an example of the reuse and cost-saving capabilities modular design can offer schools and towns. The project saw Triumph move a two-story, 26,000 s/f modular building from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden to the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in Devens The Parker School, a 375-student charter school serving grades 7-12, required a high-quality, cost-efficient solution to address their urgent space demands and purchased the structure from the Wachusett Regional School District, which no longer needed the building. The modular building was disassembled at Wachusett, transported down I-90 and then reassembled at the Parker School-all in six months. The modular building provides the Parker School with an additional two-stories of classroom and lab space, totaling more than 26,000 s/f. The addition contains a total of 14 classrooms, is handicapped accessible and energy efficient. "This was an ambitious move, becoming the largest of its kind in New England history," said Cliff Cort, president of Triumph Modular. "The opportunity to acquire this lightly used space cut project costs for the addition to less than one third of what it would have cost to build this space new." said Teri Schrader, principal at the Parker School.
